MYTH: Smoking marijuana is more harmful than smoking tobacco
Myths vs. Facts

FACT:  Like tobacco smoke, marijuana smoke contains irritants and carcinogens. Yet there is no

evidence of it resulting in permanent damage or causing lung cancer or emphysema.  To

put things in perspective, more than 430,000 American deaths were attributed to

tobacco last year. ZERO deaths were attributed to marijuana, according to the U.S.

           Centers for Disease Control.
